Madeleine: So Marcello, tell me the latest news from Mangia’s.
Marcello: Good morning. Thank you for this opportunity. Let us talk about new product. We will open a new big resort in the south-east of Sicily. The Costa Ragusa Borgo & Resort are two hotels with about 600 rooms. Between five-star luxury and five-star by the seaside, sandy beach. The opening will be in July. And another new opening, in a way, is in the north of Sardinia, the Mangia’s Sardinia Resort. Also sandy beaches, 600 rooms also there, five-star. Two really good and beautiful products for the UK market, and in general, for the north Europe market.
Madeleine: That's really exciting. And tell me what makes Mangia’s Resorts stand out from other resort in the Mediterranean?
Marcello: Well we are looking for, I'm always thinking that hospitality in a way similar to hospitals: we take care of people in their important moments in their holidays. So we are looking to give, of course, good service. This is the base, but with authenticity in an Italian way to give hospitality. Then a new formula for all-inclusive, very large formula for all-inclusive people. And we are training people to know the territory where we have the hotels, so the people can spend their holidays and at the same time experience the real life that Italians do in their home. So we host the people with joy and good service. I think this is the best way for people to spend their holidays.
Madeleine: And what client type would you say is best suited to Mangia’s?
Marcello: Of course the hotels are open from April to October, with many kinds of customer. We are targeting more families, families are our principle market. We have all the hotels with the seaside at the front line, so they can profit from the Italian summer, but also MICE. And indeed we have some hotels like Mangia’s Santa Teresa Sardinia, Curio Collection by Hilton. It's more for individual adults. I think that we have large hotels, with 4,000 rooms [across the portfolio], and so we have to target all of the market, and all the customers.
Madeleine: Amazing. Okay. And is there anything in the pipeline that travel agents in the UK and Ireland should have on their radar?
Marcello: Yes, in the pipeline we are targeting to expand our hotels in Italy, in Tuscany. We are thinking about Tuscany and Puglia. We are working on this for 2027 and some news will come soon.
Madeleine: Brilliant. And is there anything else that travel agents should know about Mangia's heading into 2026?
Marcello: I think that we are like travel agencies. We're travel agents. We come from travel agency world, and then we become hoteliers. So we understand very well their needs. We think that is very important for the industry, the contribution of the trade. So we are really focused on the relationship with them. So we’re happy to collaborate and continue on this path.
Madeleine: Thank you very much Marcello.
Marcello: Thank you.
