Earlier this year, Jet2 became the first major UK operator to make a no fuel surcharge commitment as the crisis in the Middle East deepened.
Skirmishing in the region has ensured the Strait of Hormuz – a vital shipping channel for global fuel supplies – has been shut for much of the past six months.
Jet2 on Friday (23 October) said it was "reinforcing" its no fuel surcharge guarantee with the aim of boosting consumer confidence this winter.
"Customers will not face a fuel surcharge after booking," said Jet2. "Put simply, the price customers book is the price they will pay."
However, the airline and operator also stressed: "While winter is the focus of today’s reassurance, the guarantee continues to apply to all flights and holidays across all seasons on sale including summer 2027, winter 2027/28 and summer 2028."
When it took action earlier this year, Jet2 removed the surcharge provision on all of its flights and holidays, even though it had never previously applied a surcharge.
The guarantee applies to all Jet2 flights and holidays regardless of which channel they are booked through, including those booked with travel agents.
David Hills, Jet2's Chief Customer Officer, said: “Customers work and save hard for their holidays, so they deserve certainty from the moment they book.
"As they plan their getaways this winter and beyond, we are reaffirming our no fuel surcharges guarantee and making it clear that the price customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay, with no fuel surcharge added later.
"That reassurance applies to all customers booking with Jet2, whatever time of year they choose to travel, making now the perfect time to book that well-deserved holiday.”
