The Frodsham branch has been rebranded Frodsham Travel, with new branding matching Buckley Travel’s black and white palette. There has been no impact on staff at the shop.
TravelLab’s Stockton Heath branch remains in Porter's sole ownership, trading as TravelLab. Bowring and Shone, meanwhile, also run Hawarden Travel and Chester Travel.
Porter, who knew Bowring from their Freedom Travel Group days, told TTG he sought the deal to ease the pressure on him following some "devastating" personal news.
"Business has been good, but I just needed some help," said Porter, whose agency which was named a TTG Top 50 Travel Agency in 2018. “I’m excited about what we can achieve together."
The newly-rebranded branch announced the news to its Facebook followers in early August, telling them they could look out for "all the same friendly staff" in store.
Porter said that while it will largely be business as usual for the Frodsham branch, which specialises in tailor-made and luxury travel, there will be a concerted effort to capture more package holiday says with the likes of Jet2holidays.
Both businesses were already part of Co-op Travel Services, and that remains unchanged.
Together, Bowring and Shone hold a majority stake in the Frodsham business. "When Jai came to us, we weren't looking for someone else to go into business with, but we were keen to make sure he didn't lose everything he's built over the past 13 years," Bowring told TTG.
"He's a lovely person, and I'm really glad he approached us, as someone else would have come in and swooped. If someone else did that to me and my baby, I wouldn't take it."
Bowring confirmed there wouldn't be major changes at Frodsham, adding she was sure everyone would come round to each other's way of working. "The team are lovely, the girls are lovely – I'm just glad we were able to help."
