Virgin Voyages will homeport in Amsterdam for the first time as it launches its biggest-ever European season in 2028, with the Dutch port city serving as a new base for four round-trip Scandinavian and Baltic itineraries – including an all-new Arctic Circle voyage.

The news comes just weeks after renewed debate over cruise tourism in Amsterdam, where anti-cruise campaigners have repeatedly pushed for tighter restrictions on ships calling at the Dutch city.

SJ Walker, Director of UK Sales at Virgin Voyages, said Northern Europe represented "the natural next step" following the success of the line's Alaska deployment.
