And with clients already thinking about getting away to sunnier climes this winter or next summer, airlines are rolling out their schedules for the coming year – including some enticing new routes.
Every year, the range of destinations gets broader and broader, with the latest selection ranging from the frozen wilderness of Lapland to the vast plains of Africa.
So here is TTG's pick of the new services coming to an airport near you and your clients this winter and next summer. Don't forget to let us know in the comments which routes you'd like to see take off soon.
Bangkok (Manchester and Gatwick)
Norse Atlantic Airways will launch weekly winter flights to the Thai capital from Manchester on 26 November, making Manchester the only airport outside London with a service there. Meanwhile, British Airways has confirmed expansion of its Gatwick-Bangkok route, which moved from Heathrow following the pandemic. From next summer, BA will offer a year-round service from Gatwick, extending the current winter-only schedule. Three flights a week will operate in summer going up to six in winter, one more than the current winter frequency. Both airlines will offer premium economy cabins.
Lapland (Belfast)
EasyJet will begin flying to Lapland gateway Rovaniemi from Belfast International twice a week on 2 December, making it the first and only service to Finnish Lapland from Northern Ireland. The airline is also launching a short season of flights from Southend to the destination, operating twice a week from 1 December to 9 January. However, EasyJet holidays does not currently offer packages to the destination. Rovaniemi bills itself as the Official Hometown of Santa Claus and is a good location to view the northern lights.
Spanish city breaks (Luton)
Wizz Air will launch five new routes to Spain from Luton beginning 29 March 2026, including Valencia, Seville and Bilbao – perfect alternative city break options. In addition, Wizz Air will also introduce a daily connection to Madrid and offer 10 flights a week to Barcelona, two more Spanish city break favourites. Valencia is Spain’s third-largest city but is only half the size of Barcelona. It offers a more manageable and less touristy destination, which is also on the coast. Seville is a great shoulder season destination when its very hot summer temperatures are cooler, while Bilbao’s iconic Guggenheim Museum is still putting this northern Spanish city on the map, along with its pintxo bars.
Geneva (Newcastle)
Jet2CityBreaks will offer packages for the first time this year to Geneva, usually a winter sports gateway. Now, Jet's Atol-protected packages will allow travellers to combine time exploring the city with a few days in the mountains, with Jet2CityBreaks offering a selection of three- and four-star hotels in Geneva. Flights operate from 13 December 2025 to 18 April 2026, with up to two weekly services on Saturdays and Sundays.
Verona (Bristol)
EasyJet will fly on Wednesdays and Saturdays to this northern Italy destination from 6 December. Some of Italy’s premier ski resorts like Cortina d’Ampezzo and those in the Dolomites are reachable from this historic city. However, Verona is an attraction in itself, with Juliet’s balcony and its Roman arena, which serves as an opera venue as well as a historic monument.
Tirana (Birmingham and Dublin)
Ryanair is investing in a base in Albania's capital Tirana, with a Birmingham-Tirana service taking off on 1 April 2026, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays until 24 October. Dublin flights will operate from 2 April 2026 on Mondays and Thursdays until 22 October. Tirana’s Communist era bunkers provide a fascinating history tour, while its growing cafe scene means relaxing breaks from sightseeing. Ryanair’s tie-in with Tui means the operator already offers Tirana packages from Stansted, and this will doubtless extend to other departure points.
Orlando (Edinburgh)
Scottish theme park devotees will have more options to visit the home of Disney next summer when Virgin Atlantic schedules extra flights to Orlando. An additional 12 rotations from Edinburgh will mean almost 5,000 more seats for agents to sell. Summer 2026 will see flights operate from April through to the end of October, with up to three frequencies per week. The opening of Universal Epic Universe in May means the attraction of this part of Florida is stronger than ever. Join TTG for a video tour here.
Rome (Glasgow)
New easyJet and Wizz Air routes from Glasgow mean the Eternal City is another attractive winter city break option for agents to sell. Wizz Air will fly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 27 October, while easyJet holidays will offer a package option from 2 February 2026, with its parent airline flying on the same days. The launch of winter flights mean visitors can experience the city when it is far less busy and accommodation easier to secure.
Istanbul (Stansted)
Turkish Airlines will from 18 March 2026 make Stansted its sixth UK gateway. Flights will operate 14 times a week to Istanbul, which has rapidly become one of the world’s major airline hubs. The Essex airport already has a connection to the city, but the arrival of Turkish Airlines brings access to more than 350 onward international routes across 131 countries operated by the carrier. An example is Turkish Airlines’ Sydney service, which moves up to a daily flight from 12 January 2026.
Nairobi (Gatwick)
This one isn't strictly brand new, but it is exciting. Kenya Airways began this service in July, offering three flights a week, but departures are likely to be most popular in winter when it brings safari and beach options in Kenya within easy reach during peak season. Kenya Airways is one of Africa’s top five biggest airlines and its hub at Nairobi permits onward connections to more than 40 destinations across Africa including the Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius and Zanzibar. Specialists like Somak Holidays offer a wide range of Kenyan breaks and safaris, including in its near neighbours.
