The group has completed an extensive refurbishment of the resort, which will now be known as Domes of Corfu Autograph Collection and opens officially this week.

The addition is the fifth hotel for the group in Greece and its second on the island, joining Domes Miramare, which sits under Marriott’s Luxury Collection brand.

Domes of Corfu is a 20-minute drive from Corfu International airport and sits on the western coast of the island on Glyfada beach.

The 233-room hotel has three pools with adult-only areas, and a Soma Spa, while experiences include themed events in co-operation with the Ionian University of Music.

There are four dining concepts and four bars, including the hotel’s largest restaurant, Agora, and Frourio, for Italian-Greek fusion fine dining.

At the heart of the resort is Core Spianada, an open-air, multifunctional area designed to mimic the ancient Greek gathering place, or “agora”, and home to pop-up shopping, street food stalls, art installations and events.

Rates start from £245 per night, but also within Domes of Corfu is the Haute Living Selection, designed as a collection of “ultra-luxe accommodations with bespoke offerings”, including concierge service, and a 24-hour lounge.

Also key to the resort is the Kiepos Kids Club for children aged four months to 12 years, with staff trained to British Ofsted standards and guided by a Montessori-inspired programme of activities.

“We are excited to be opening our second Domes Resorts hotel on the beautiful island of Corfu,” said George P. Spanos, vice president of Domes Resorts. “After the success of Domes Miramare Adults-Only Resort, we wanted to share our fondness for the island, its rich culture and wonderful people with families as well. After the year we have all undergone, we look forward to seeing the place come alive with the energy of our people and our guests.”

“Greece is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and we are confident that the combination of Corfu’s natural beauty with Autograph Collection Hotel’s boutique design, will make Domes of Corfu one of the country’s leading leisure resorts,” said Satya Anand, president for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

Domes Resorts’ portfolio also includes three hotels in Crete – Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection; Domes Noruz Chania, Autograph Collection; and Domes Zeen Chania, a Luxury Collection Resort.
