For some rooms with serious views, check out Ritz-Carlton’s long-awaited debut in the Thai capital. Located within the One Bangkok skyscraper, Ritz-Carlton Bangkok overlooks Lumpini Park with the 260 rooms and suites highlighting these views with floor-to-ceiling windows. Shangri-La Phnom Penh

Other debutants in south-east Asia include InterContinental Halong Bay Resort in Vietnam where views of the fabled and endlessly photographed bay will be the big attraction. Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur
India’s luxury newcomers this year include Anantara’s first property in the destination. Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur aims to offer a “window into a bygone era” through its intricate design. Shakti Prana
A more remote option in the Indian Himalayas will be Shakti Prana, a new retreat from walking specialist Shakti Himalaya on the site of the former Shakti 360 Leti property.
