The luxury cruise company will launch Celebrity Infinity from Fort Lauderdale in Florida to the eastern Caribbean islands on its first voyage in more than two years.
The ship will take guests on a seven-night tour of the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, and the Dominican Republic.
The sailing also marks the full return to service of all 63 ships in parent-company Royal Caribbean Group’s fleet, which coincides with the International Maritime Organisation’s Day of the Seafarer. To celebrate, all ships in the fleet will sound their horn on Saturday to honour their crew.
The cruise company’s return to service began a year ago last June when Celebrity Edge became the first ship to launch from a US port in 15 months. Since then, Celebrity Cruises has gradually relaunched all its ships to destinations around the world from Europe and the Caribbean to Alaska and the Galapagos Islands.
“This sailing not only caps an incredible journey, but sets a course for a whole new world of infinite possibilities for our brand and for cruise travel. The future is very bright, thanks to the time, effort, and love that the team has poured into bringing our entire fleet back,” said Celebrity Cruises’ CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.
“Seeing the beautiful Celebrity Infinity sail out of Florida will be an emotional moment for everyone at Celebrity Cruises, especially our crew, who have waited so long to welcome guests aboard, once again,” she added.
Following its return sailing, Celebrity Infinity will embark on alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries, calling at Bimini or Nassau, Bahamas and Key West.
Eastern Caribbean sailings will visit Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, while western Caribbean sailings will also stop in Belize and Cozumel in Mexico.
Until 3 August 2022, Celebrity is offering savings of up to £600 on stateroom bookings as part of its Save and Sail offer.
