President and chief executive Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said the overhaul – named Celebrity Revolution - signalled “the largest investment [the line] has ever made” to renovate its ships.
The revamp programme, due to begin in 2019, will see a redesign and reconfiguration of all staterooms across Celebrity’s nine ships as well as a new sun deck, refurbished lounge, and new cafe on four of its ships.
The modernisation plans will make the line’s current vessels closer in look and feel to upcoming Celebrity Edge, launching in 2018.
“Celebrity Cruises has always been recognised as an innovative, trend-setting brand, and the Celebrity Revolution is just another instance in which we keep raising the bar in modern luxury travel,” Lutoff-Perlo added.
The accommodation refit, created by interior design consultancy Hirsch Bedner Associates, will replace the current layout, decor, bedding and storage onboard Celebrity’s ships to offer a “sleek, contemporary and comfortable” look, according to the line.
“We’re not just redesigning the staterooms, we’re tearing them down and building them back up," said Brian Abel, vice-president hotel operations.
As part of Celebrity Revolution, suite class guests will get a new Retreat Sun Deck, which Celebrity said could “rival any high-end resort” and the “revitalised” Retreat Lounge where passengers can enjoy complimentary beverages, gourmet bites and live entertainment.
While a new Oceanview Cafe, described as "an international marketplace with globally-infused menus" will feature exclusively onboard Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Summit.
