Disgraced travel agent Rita Hunter won’t have to pay back a penny of the more than £200,000 she stole from her clients, a court has ruled.

Hunter was served a nominal costs order of £1 at Liverpool Crown Court last week, which has been deemed paid, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The 63-year-old is currently serving a 56-month jail term handed down in November last year after she admitted nine counts of fraud.

Having been declared bankrupt and with no assets to repay her £217,000 ill-gotten gains, the judge, Recorder Matthew Corbett-Jones, made a nominal order during a recent proceeds of crime hearing.
