EasyJet will fly from Manchester to the Jordanian city of Aqaba for the first time this winter.
The low-cost carrier put flights and holidays to the Red Sea port on sale on Tuesday (7 September) with seats leading in from £95.99.
Its first service is due to depart on 6 December and operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter.
Jordan is currently on the amber travel list for passengers entering into England.
EasyJet country manager Ali Gayward said: “We know our customers can’t wait to go on a long-awaited and well-deserved holiday, so this new route will prove popular for customers wishing to get away for some winter sun and further strengthens our Manchester international network, providing customers with great value fares and ever more choice this winter.”
Karen Smart, managing director at Manchester Airport, added: “The announcement of this new route is fantastic news for passengers who are seeking some sunshine this winter, and we are delighted to see easyJet expanding its Manchester network and offering even more choice to travellers.
“As Covid-19 restrictions continue to ease, we hope to see an increase in the variety and frequency of routes available this winter, ensuring that for those seeking a much-needed break, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.”
