EasyJet boss Johan Lundgren believes there is significant "underlying demand" for domestic and international travel, despite the Covid crisis.
The carrier reports flight and holiday searches up more than 200% week-on-week amid news UK-wide Covid restrictions will be eased over Christmas.
Popular connections in December include travel to Belfast from London and Bristol, and flights between London and Edinburgh.
EasyJet also saw a spike in international bookings upon launching its Black Friday sale on Wednesday (25 November), with Faro, Palma, Alicante and Malaga all proving popular for spring and summer 2021.
Demand is also up for destinations in Turkey and the Canary Islands.
“Following the government announcement this week, we have seen a 200% increase in searches for both flights and holidays, with domestic bookings significantly up week-on-week proving popular for those looking to visit friends and family over December," said chief executive Johan Lundgren.
"So we know underlying demand is there, which we see every time travel restrictions are lifted. We continue to closely review our flying programme to ensure we are aligning our schedule with customer demand."
