Emirates will launch its first A380 service from Dubai to Bali later this summer, the airline announced on Friday (24 March).
Replacing two daily 777 services, the first flight will depart from Dubai at 3.25am on 1 June and arrive at Bali’s Denpasar International Airport at 4.35 local time.
The return service will leave the Indonesian city at 7.40pm, arriving in Dubai at 12.45am local time. The plane features 58 lie-flat seats in Business as well as 557 seats in Economy.
Chief commercial officer Adnan Kazim said the A380’s deployment represents Emirates’ “long-standing commitment” to Indonesia’s travel and tourism sector.
“We look forward to driving more inbound traffic to the island, while also offering leisure and business travellers more opportunities to connect to Dubai and beyond to cities across Europe and the Americas through Emirates’ extensive global network,” Kazim added.
His words were echoed by Fairk Fahmi, president director of the airport’s state-owned operator Angkasa Pura I, who said the A380 service “will allow more opportunities for cooperation and investment in other sectors of the industry in Indonesia."
The UAE flagship carrier introduced direct flights to Bali in 2015, after starting operations in Indonesia in 1992 with direct services to Jakarta. As of now, the airline serves Indonesia with 28 flights per week to both Jakarta and Bali.
