Fred Olsen has announced record sales after launching its 2017-18 cruise programme to top-tier Oceans loyalty club members.
According to the line, March 15 was its most successful sales day on record with a 50% increase in takings and 31% more bookings than on the first day of last season’s sale.
The programme is due to go on general sale today.
Fred Olsen also announced its top-selling itineraries of 2017-18 so far with a top-three including its 17-night voyage around the Mediterranean Islands departing on April 5, a Fjords of Greenland cruise lasting 14-nights aboard its Boudicca vessel casting off August 14 and a 25-night cruise to Croatia and Venice upon its Black Watch cruiser leaving April 24.
Nathan Philpot, sales and marketing director for Fred Olsen, said: “We are very encouraged by the tremendous response that we have received to our new cruise programme, and we would like to thank all our travel trade partners for their support.
“For Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, it is less about the ship, more about the experience, and we are in a very fortunate position that our smaller ships provide us with the ability to create and tailor-make such rich itineraries.
“We have worked even harder than ever to create over 100 innovative sailings in 2017-18, which will enable our guests to see the world in a very different, and very special, way.
“We would encourage all our agents to get behind our new cruise programme, and we hope that we can all benefit from our unique, immersive itineraries.”
Meanwhile, the line announced a retention in its number of ex-UK departures for 2017-18, with plans to sail from 10 ports around the country comprising Southampton; Dover; Tilbury; Harwich; Falmouth; Liverpool; Newcastle; Greenock in Glasgow; Rosyth in Edinburgh and Belfast.
