The Global Travel Group has appointed two new BDMs amid a major reorganisation of its sales and business development team, designed to further boost face-to-face interaction with member agencies.
Global will split its team across three regions - north, south and a newly-formed central region - rather than just two, north and south. The change will be effective from September 24.
Ex Attraction World key account manager Amanda Schofield joins Global following a short stint with Bedsonline to operate the central region, while Sarah Ryan will take on Global’s south region. She joins from Veranda Leisure and Hospitality where she held the role of sales and marketing account executive.
Schofield and Ryan will report to Darren Bond, head of sales and business development.
Global’s commercial director Cherie Richards said: “Having staff out on the road is the very best way to get our message out and support members, no matter what size their agency. Being able to add a new central area into the mix means our development team each have a smaller patch to cover and can support agents with the development of their business more frequently.
“Members benefit from more face-to-face contact since it means we can keep them updated on promotions, answer any queries and help them grow their business. We want our members to know they have someone to turn to who understands and appreciates their business.
“The new structure also allows us to acknowledge the significant role Darren has played at Global over the past eight years. Maximising the phenomenal talent within the business has always been key to Global and I am looking forward to working with him closely over the coming months to deliver even more for our agent members.”
Since April, Global has welcomed 16 new agent members - including seven start-ups.
