Not Just Travel has revealed it put its experienced new finance chief through the same entry-level training given to new travel consultants and franchisees joining the business.
Former Mr & Mrs Smith financial director Stephen Badger, who was also head of finance at Virgin Media, has been tasked with helping drive "a whole new level" of growth at Not Just Travel.
However, co-founder Paul Harrison said it was vital everyone in the business is shown the ropes. “It’s similar to how each senior leadership team of Starbucks goes through the same training as a new barista and working the shop floor,” remarked Harrison.
Badger said his time spent on the “shop floor” would help him make better, more informed decisions, with greater understanding of how they impact Not Just Travel’s team, suppliers and customers.
“As soon as I met [co-founder] Steve Witt, Paul Harrison and Derek Jones, I knew our personalities and ambitions aligned,” said Badger.
“Not Just Travel is a formidable company with incredible potential and I look forward to working with senior management, the board, the staff team and the consultants on taking Not Just Travel to a whole new level.”
The appointment comes as part of Not Just Travel’s development strategy, which included investing £1 million on recruitment as well as restructuring its team.
