From 1 May, fully vaccinated travellers – along with those under the age of 12 – will be permitted to enter the country without proof of a pre-arrival negative test for Covid-19.
They will, though, still be required to complete a pre-departure form, while some entry restrictions will remain in place unvaccinated and non-fully vaccinated arrivals.
The changes have been confirmed by Malaysia’s ministry of health. They come less than a month after Malaysia reopened its borders to international travellers.
Daniel Bainbridge, Malaysia Airlines regional director UK and Europe, said he was delighted. "International arrivals have increased dramatically since the border officially opened on 1 April," he said.
"This further removal of entry requirements is an even clearer sign Malaysia is fully open to the world," added Bainbridge.
Malaysia Airlines is currently operating its MH1 and MH3 routes between Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur 11 times a week. From 30 June, it will revert to a full twice-daily service.
