Norwegian will add nearly 40% more weekly US and Canada departures from Ireland for summer 2019.
The low cost long haul carrier will grow its transatlantic programme 37% to 40 weekly flights from Ireland.
Starting March 31, Norwegian will add Toronto from Dublin and bolster its Boston and New York routes from Cork and Shannon respectively.
Flights will be operated by Norwegian’s new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with a slimmer, more spacious seat profile.
Fares lead in from €129 (£115) one way.
Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian chief commercial officer, said the move would meet demand and expand Norwegian’s presence in Ireland.
“The market presents a clear opportunity to deliver more high-quality flights at lower fares for consumers on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Ramdahl.
“Norwegian’s expansion continues in summer 2019 with the launch of our first route to Canada [Hamilton-Toronto], bolstering popular routes and maintaining much-needed direct transatlantic services to maximise choice and flexibility for Irish business and leisure customers.”
The airline will operate 28 weekly flights from Dublin, nine from Shannon and three from Cork.
From Dublin, Norwegian’s new daily Hamilton-Toronto service launches March 31, leading in from €189 (£169). Flights will depart Dublin at 2.40pm arriving 5.25pm.
Its Providence-Boston service will increase from five times weekly to daily, departing Dublin at 3pm (2.45pm Fridays and Sundays) arriving 5.05pm (4.50pm Fridays and Sundays).
Norwegian’s twice-daily New York route will be unchanged, departing Dublin at 8.10am and 2.30pm, arriving 10.30am and 4.50pm.
From Shannon, Norwegian will increase its summer Stewart-New York service from three to five flights a week, departing Shannon 3.40pm arriving 5.50pm.
Its four times weekly Providence-Boston service from Shannon and three times weekly summer service from Cork will remain unchanged.
