The consumer magazine had run an investigation into cruise companies’ policies of additional on-board spend and found Saga’s total service charges per person on a 14-night cruise came to nothing.
This is compared to charges of up to £123 operated by certain rival cruise companies, the investigation found.
The article said: “Some companies are ripping off passengers from the moment their feet hit the gangplank.”
The article also found certain cruise companies charging as much as £35 for 100 minutes of wifi, Both Saga Sapphire and Saga Pearl II include free wifi as part of their cost.
