Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy has promised the launch of a new Luton base next year will be the last “for some time”.

Jet2 will base two 232-seat Airbus A321s at Luton, with flights and holidays starting from 1 April 2025. Luton will be the operator’s 13th base in the UK and Ireland.
The surprise announcement on Wednesday (13 November) came despite Heapy telling TTG in March: “We have no plans for any more bases.” However, speaking on Wednesday, Heapy said: “Obviously, we are looking at stuff all the time.”
