The latest survey captures the summer peak season, the first since 2019 to be almost wholly uninterrupted by operational issues arising from the Covid pandemic.
As ever, the Tracker survey aims to capture a snapshot of how agents across the UK and Ireland are faring, tracking more than 40 data points spanning levels of new enquiries, sales and bookings, pricing trends, the trade’s approach to discounting, and the major issues affecting agents’ ability to trade.
In addition, we monitor destination and sector-specific bookings trends, for which seasons agents are most commonly booking, and how late the market remains.
There are opportunities for agents to let us know about how they are faring with travel’s key suppliers, which suppliers have gone above and beyond to work in partnership with them, whether suppliers are getting on top of call wait times, and otherwise share the ups and downs of being a travel agent in 2023.
For the Q3 survey, we’ve also included a new set of topical questions focusing on issues such as recruitment, sustainable travel, supplier-led training – and whether travel remains a fun industry in which to work.
As ever, the latest topics are informed by feedback from previous Tracker respondents, as well as industry data and trends, and major industry developments.
Agents will be invited to participate by email on Monday afternoon (2 October) and the survey will remain open until close of play Friday 13 October. All agents – high street, homeworking, online and call centre – across the UK and Ireland are invited to take part.
Agent respondents will be the first to get TTG’s Travel Agent Tracker infographic report, which is typically published a few days after the survey closes.
The Tracker was launched in April 2020 at the height of the Covid pandemic, and has charted the agent sector’s rebound from the crisis across – to date – across more than 70 surveys and reports.
