TTG Media has expanded its award-winning editorial team with the appointment of Ilaria Grasso Macola as news reporter.
Ilaria, who is originally from Milan, joins TTG from City AM, where she worked the paper’s transport and travel beat.
During her time at City AM, Ilaria interviewed a number of senior travel industry executives, including Virgin Atlantic boss Shai Weiss and outgoing Heathrow chief John Holland-Kaye.
She also quizzed mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on tube and rail strikes in the capital.
Ilaria also brings travel sector feature writing experience from an 18-month spell with GlobalData, covering sectors ranging from aviation and rail to cruise and future ship technologies.
She studied in London and holds an MA in journalism from Goldsmiths.
“Ilaria really impressed during a rigorous interview and trial process, and brings some highly relevant travel sector experience to the TTG news team,” said TTG Media news editor James Chapple.
“She’s equally used to working in a fast-paced breaking news environment as she is writing in-depth features, and is excited to start building her profile – look out for Ilaria at industry events and conferences throughout the year.”
TTG Media CEO Dan Pearce added: “We’re delighted to welcome Ilaria to the team; her appointment underlines TTG’s commitment to high quality, unique content – both online and in print – as we continue to strive for a smarter better fairer travel industry, and as TTG celebrates its platinum jubilee year this year.”
