Travel agents interested in joining two educational workshops and an inclusive fam trip to India are being asked to share why the LGBT+ market is important to them before 10 July in order to be considered for the programme.
Applicants can be part of the LGBT+ community or dedicated allies, with the programme being open to all genders and sexual orientations. The only requirement is that agents must have little to no experience selling to LGBT+ travellers.
“It’s an honour to partner with TTG on this LGBT+ Travel Ambassadors programme,” said Carrie Grant, senior partnerships manager for the UK and Ireland at Intrepid.
“We believe in creating positive change through the joy of travel but we recognise that for LGBTQIA+ travellers, it can also come with unique challenges. While there’s been great progress in recognising the buying power of the LGBTQ+ market, we want to go further by championing connection, allyship and inclusion, so by partnering on this, we’re taking meaningful steps to help make that happen.”
Virgin Atlantic, the airline partner for the programme, also highlighted how the plans support its mission to drive positive change.
“We’re incredibly proud to support this initiative during Pride Month,” said Nick Johnson, Virgin Atlantic senior sales account manager and chair of the Pride@VirginAtlantic LGBT+ employee network.
“At Virgin Atlantic, we believe travel should be open and welcoming to everyone. Partnering with TTG and Intrepid on this is a powerful way to champion LGBT+ visibility, support our valued agent community and help shape a more inclusive future for travel.”
