The agency chain said Berry, who spent the first 20 years of her career in travel with Thomas Cook, brought "a wealth of industry experience" to the role and "a clear vision for the future of the business".
Prior to joining Fred Olsen Travel in the spring, Berry spent six years providing consultancy services across a range of sectors, including to travel and tourism adjacent operations.
Berry entered travel via Cook’s graduate scheme in the late 1990s and went on to hold senior roles within tour operating, commercial, cruise, customer experience and transformation.
She takes over from acting managing director Sam Stimpson, chief executive of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. The agency said under Stimpson’s watch, it had carried out a "thorough review" of the business to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth which Berry will now be tasked with taking forward.
Belinda Mindell, chair of Fred Olsen Travel, said she was confident that Berry’s "strong leadership" would see the business continue to thrive.
"I would also like to thank Sam for all her support during this transition, managing both her existing role with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, as well as supporting Fred Olsen Travel. Her contribution has been much appreciated."
Berry said she was excited to build on Williams’s 36-year legacy with Fred Olsen Travel and the team’s work in preparation of her taking up the role. "We have an incredibly talented team in place and I look forward to working with them all in order to further grow the business," she added.
