The flag carrier announced on Friday (28 April) it will increase the frequency from three to five five flights per week starting 1 July, before resuming daily operations.
Phan The Thang, the airline’s general manager for the UK and Ireland, said that re-establishing the daily connection to Vietnam was a “key priority” for the airline.
“With the resumption of daily services from London confirmed once again for this winter, we are determined to return to pre-pandemic passenger numbers – which peaked at approximately 74,000 from London Heathrow in 2019 - as soon as possible,” he added.
Operating at Heathrow since 2015, Vietnam Airlines launched a daily non-stop service to Vietnam in June 2016 before it was forced to halt all services due to Covid. The connection was eventually re-established after a two-year hiatus in June 2022.
Return tickets start to Hanoi start from £588 per person while services to Ho Chi Minh City are from £596 per person.
