In partnership with Sense of Africa and supported by South Africa Tourism, over 20 Travel Counsellors and a colleague from the support team travelled across the country on three bespoke itineraries designed to deepen destination knowledge, strengthen supplier relationships and inspire future customer bookings.
The first itinerary, Introduction to South Africa, took Travel Counsellors through Cape Town and the Garden Route, including visits to Table Mountain, Cape Point, Knysna, and a safari experience at Pumba Private Game Reserve. The second itinerary, South Africa Rediscovered, focused on the Kruger region and the Panorama Route, with stays at Angels View, Kruger Gate Hotel, Tshokwane River Camp and the iconic Kruger Shalati Train on the Bridge.
The third itinerary, South Africa Off the Beaten Track, explored KwaZulu Natal, beginning in Durban and continuing through the historic battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, the Lebombo Mountains, Lake Jozini and the Mfulawozi Reserve.
All three groups reunited in Johannesburg for a two night finale at Southern Sun Rosebank. The closing programme included a mini Indaba, where Travel Counsellors met with the partners who hosted and facilitated the trips, followed by informal presentations from each group sharing their experiences and insights. The programme concluded with a celebratory farewell dinner.
Suzanne Benadie, Managing Executive, Sense of Africa commented: “Travel Counsellors and Sense of Africa share a unique relationship – one of personal care, entrepreneurship at our core, and an aligned vision of always doing the right thing, by each other, and for the customer in country.”
Joanne Kemp, Gold Travel Counsellor based in Worcestershire, said: “Experiencing South Africa first hand has given me a completely different perspective on the destination. From seeing the incredible wildlife and landscapes to meeting our local partners and exploring places I can now confidently recommend, every part of the trip has strengthened my knowledge."
