At approximately 344 metres and 169,000 gross tonnes, Norwegian Aura will be able to accommodate 3,840 guests at double occupancy, making it around 10% larger than sister ships Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.
The new build has been designed with a strong focus on family-friendly attractions such as "Ocean Heights", an open-air activity zone that includes five waterslides – the most on any NCL ship – which also includes the line's first duelling mat racer slides, stretching to more than 120 metres.
After making its debut, a seven-day sailing from Trieste to Barcelona, Norwegian Aura will sail a Caribbean itinerary featuring calls to the brand's private "resort-style" destinations Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye. It will then homeport in Miami from June 2027.
Other headline attractions include a ropes course, a rock-climbing wall, a nine-hole mini golf course, an outdoor amusement-style area with carnival games, and the line’s first overhanging private cabanas. The latter overlook an adults-only retreat known as Vibe Beach Club, which features loungers, infinity hot tubs, a waterfall feature and relaxation areas.
Norwegian Aura will have 1,976 cabins, including 159 suites within The Haven by Norwegian. The line’s keycard-access luxury offering, The Haven provides 24-hour butler and concierge service, priority boarding and "exclusive onboard spaces".
Last year, the line's UK and Ireland chief Gary Anslow sat down with TTG to talk about the brand's "rapid expansion", including plans to extend its trade team with a new regional sales executive.
