Embark on the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour
Follow in the footsteps of Tom Hanks and countless NBA players with a visit to Lake Osceola, which is a long-established home of the rich and famous. The hour-long Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour ($10-20pp) has honed its visitor experience over more than 70 years, delivering a tour of three lakes and the Spanish moss-lined canals connecting them with amusing anecdotes and fun facts. The waterside homes are attractions in their own right – think quirky design choices including giant rubber ducks and oversized water features – and there are plenty of natural wonders to admire too, such as barred owls and water turkeys.
Browse the largest Tiffany collection in the world at The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art
Yes, that’s the Tiffany. While Charles Lewis Tiffany founded the famous Tiffany & Co jewellery brand, his son Louis Comfort Tiffany made a name for himself in the decorative arts, producing an impressive collection of glass art in the late 19th and early 20th century. At this unassuming gallery in Orlando’s affluent Winter Park neighbourhood, visitors can browse stained glass designs bursting with colour, jewellery dripping with elegance and even the iconic Tiffany Chapel, which took decades to move here from New York and was restored in 1997 (tickets cost $0-8pp).
Follow the art trail at Lake Eola
The mile-long paved trail around Lake Eola is perfect for walking, running or cycling – and is step free so ideal for wheelchair users and pushchairs. See Art Orlando has installed eye-catching sculptures around the water’s edge, which is where visitors will find grazing swans, white ibis and stalks, among other bird life. The rainbow-painted Walt Disney Amphitheatre commands the west shore and regularly hosts concerts, films and plays – so always check the schedule to see what’s on.
Explore the Orange County Regional History Centre
Erected in 1927 as a courthouse in Downtown Orlando, the Orange County Regional History Centre ($0-10pp) still houses the original jury box along with a comprehensive collection of treasures over four floors. Offering exhibits focusing on everything from Florida’s indigenous community and African American history to aviation and the state’s theme park evolution (including the birth of Walt Disney World), it’s easy to lose hours within these walls. A new addition in January 2026 was Animationland, which highlights the imagination, drawing, science and storytelling at the heart of popular animations such as The Lion King and Mulan.
Take a coffee break at Luminary Green
Luminary Green is a magnet for students, offering a wide open lawn space for picnics, games and soaking up the Florida sunshine. On the northeast corner of the green, Qreate Coffee Creative Village serves up trendy coffee concoctions, flaky pastries and a range of brunch and options. It’s a popular spot for artists and entrepreneurs, and oozes cool, community vibes.
