Travel Counsellors has shared a number of initiatives to enhance the inclusivity of its annual conference next month, as part of its commitment to supporting members of all backgrounds.
Taking place at the ACC Liverpool from November 7th to 9th, the event will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the homeworking agency and network with industry peers. There will also be a Discovery Day on November 8th for people who are interested in becoming a Travel Counsellor.
All conference delegates will have access to the Sunflower Lanyard scheme, which enables individuals to communicate a disability or condition that might not be immediately apparent.
There will also be two quiet rooms, where attendees can retreat from the main programme, and a dedicated community space for people to mingle in a more informal setting.
Organisers will also be holding venue showrounds prior to the event as well as an earlier presentation of the TCTM exhibition for those who’d prefer a “gentler start.”
These initiatives follow the launch of the company’s five Affinity Groups: TC Balance, TC Ability, TC Origins, TC Sustain and TC Pride. Attendees of the event will also have the opportunity to learn more about this collection of groups, which was created last year to provide peer networks and safe spaces for members.
“Our Annual Conference is the highlight of the year, and we want every single person in our community to feel that they truly belong,” said Karen Morris, engagement director at Travel Counsellors. “That’s why we’ve introduced additional measures to support inclusivity, wellbeing, and mental health.
“By putting our Affinity Groups at the heart of the event, we’re not just creating opportunities to learn and connect, we’re helping our people find their community, their support network, and a place where they can be themselves. Travel Counsellors has always been about empowering our people to thrive, and these latest initiatives at our annual conference are another step in making sure everyone can be their personal best, feel valued, and leave inspired.”
