Six Senses seeks to reassure guests

Neil Jacobs, chief executive of Six Senses Hotels Resorts and Spas, has sought to reassure guests that the group’s hotels are “living by its responsible and caring values”.

He said this meant “taking care of our guests and hosts, being consistent with our already high standards around hygiene, sanitisation and cleaning, and implementing additional measures based on the guidance of local health authorities in each country where we operate”.

“The uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 makes it a confusing time to travel,” he said. “As the situation evolves, we are closely monitoring official guidance from the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and working with authorities on a country-by-country basis to ensure what we are doing is correct, comprehensive and effective.”

He said the group was keeping its cancellation policy “under regular review” to ensure flexibility clients needed when considering travel plans.

“We hope that our cancellation policy gives you some peace of mind and we look forward to welcoming you back,” he added.

Cancellation fees for existing and new bookings at Six Senses resorts globally have been waived for stays before 30 April 2020, with clients urged to contact resorts directly, or their agent.

“In these uncertain and confusing times, it is important to take care of ourselves and our loved ones, and stay connected, even if remotely, with our colleagues, partners and communities,” he said in a statement.

“It is this spirit of togetherness that will help us overcome daily challenges, allowing us to move forward one step at a time.”
