Tourism Northern Territory is offering travel agents in London, Newcastle and Edinburgh the opportunity to join a cocktail-making masterclass to say thank you for engaging with the Australian destination.
“We know how passionate and hard-working travel agents are and how tough everyone has had it throughout the pandemic, so we wanted to say a big thank you to them,” said Lucy Pares, UK marketing executive for Tourism Northern Territory.
Attendees at each of the three masterclasses will have the opportunity to make three cocktails using Darwin Gin, which Pares explained is “made using botanicals from the region and will give agents a real flavour of the Top End”.
To register interest in the masterclasses, agents are being asked to answer a question on the destination: At which popular Darwin market can you buy a tasty meal and sit on the beach next door to watch spectacular sunsets?
The answer can be found in TTG’s recent Selling Darwin webinar, which Pares said “gives heaps of useful facts and information on how to effectively sell Darwin and the Northern Territory to customers, and shows why Darwin makes such an easy, accessible, and perfect first stop on an Australian itinerary”.
The three cocktail-making masterclasses are taking place on 21 June at Revolution Edinburgh; 22 June at Revolution Newcastle Upon Tyne; and 23 June at Revolution Leadenhall London, with sign-ups being taken until 31 May and networking built into the schedules.
Agents can answer the question and select their preferred location here, while one agent will win a £50 Love2shop voucher by doing so.
Pares said now is a great time to learning more about and selling Australia’s Northern Territory.
“Flying to Darwin is one of the quickest ways to get to Australia at the moment,” she explained. “With its small, efficient airport you could be off the plane and enjoying the tropical capital city within an hour, with plenty of stunning places to explore including national parks full of beautiful nature and wildlife, wide-open spaces, stunning vistas and ancient culture.”
“Darwin’s proximity to Asia means the cuisine is deliciously eclectic and there are plenty of adventures to be had from swimming in epic waterholes to cruising majestic gorges and learning about a fascinating indigenous culture,” she added.
