British Airways is to launch a new service from London City to the Croatian destination of Split for summer 2019.
The carrier will operate the route three times per week from June through to September – it will be the first time that London City has offered a destination in Croatia.
BA already flies from Heathrow to Split and will increase frequency on this route from five to seven weekly flights next year.
Luke Hayhoe, BA’s general manager commercial and customer, said: “With the arrival of our new aircraft next year we have been looking at a number of new route and additional frequency possibilities.
“Split is the second largest city in Croatia and is becoming increasingly popular with customers looking for an alternative holiday destination or who are joining a cruise ship.”
The carrier is also to add an extra weekly flight on London City routes to two Greek islands – Skiathos and Mykonos – in summer 2019.
BA also plans to increase frequencies on several routes from Heathrow in 2019 including Chania, Preveza and Kalamata in Greece, as well as Faro, Ibiza, Berlin, Malaga and Venice.
