British Airways is to become the only airline to operate direct flights from the UK to the Seychelles starting from next year.
The carrier will operate a twice-weekly direct summer service between March and October from Heathrow Terminal 5 using the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Flights will depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays, facilitating 10-night trips to the Indian Ocean islands.
BA currently offers flights to the Seychelles with a stopover in Doha, Qatar, making a total flight time of 13 hours, however, the new direct service will be approximately 10 hours.
Sean Doyle, director of network and alliances at BA, said: “The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we’re delighted to be adding this collection of islands to our extensive route network.
“As one of the leading luxury holiday destinations, the Seychelles offers customers a wide range of accommodation and activities in stunning natural surroundings.”
Return fares start at £699, rising to £3,499 for first class.
