Celebrity Cruises has revamped its rewards scheme to offer Netflix e-vouchers as part of a range of new initiatives to support agents at home amid the coronavirus lockdown.
On Treat Yourself Tuesdays, beginning today (12 May), agents can exchange their Celebrity Rewards points for prizes to enjoy from home, with more partners to be announced soon.
Agents are encouraged to visit the line’s Celebrity Cruises’ Travel Agent Facebook Page, where the rest of the new e-voucher options will be revealed.
Celebrity Rewards allows travel consultants to earn up to £20 for every new booking they make, equating to 2,000 points. The Netflix e-vouchers incentives requires a minimum of 2,500 points from new or existing bookings.
Claire Stirrup, UK and Ireland sales director, said: “We’re so grateful for the support of our hard working and highly valued trade partners.
"We wanted to show our appreciation in a way that felt fitting given the increased time we all have to spend at home at the moment, and our enhanced Celebrity Rewards programme does just that. We can’t wait to see agents getting into the spirit with Treat Yourself Tuesday – we know just how much they all deserve it."
Speaking during a TTG Face to Face last week, EMEA boss Jo Rzymowska said the rewards suited the current situation.
Celebrity has also launched its first post-lockdown sale, the Dream Big Sale, running until 14 May, offering three onboard perks from its Sail Plus option – drinks, gratuities and Wi-Fi – for the price of two.
A training programme for furloughed agency staff will also soon be launched as part of its parent RCL Cares platform.
Rzymowska said the line was seeing “good green shoots” for 2021 – in particular for the Caribbean, Alaska and ex-UK – and despite it being “early days” more than 50% of customers were opting for a future cruise credit.
She said RCL leaders were “spending pretty much all of our time” to develop new health and safety protocols – which would be reflected in its future messaging.
“You’ve got to make sure the comeback is stronger than the setback – that’s something that we’re really focused on at Celebrity and RCL,” Rzymowska added.
