Moves this week see an experienced managing director announce his intention to leave his role in the summer, bringing the curtain down on a travel industry career which has spanned five decades, while another industry veteran is retiring after more than 35 years at an established agency.

Celebrity Cruises, meanwhile, has restructured its senior management team, handing promotions to two faces familiar to UK and Irish travel agents, while luxury hotel group Sani-Ikos has embarked on a massive trade hiring spree to strengthen its service to agents.

Elsewhere, Abercrombie & Kent is looking for a new agency sales manager, while group holiday specialist Travel Department has hired a key account and business development manager, covering Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland – just a few weeks after bringing a new trade sales manager into the business.
