Williams, who has been with the agency for 36 years, will be succeeded by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines chief executive Samantha Stimpson on an interim basis. “I am extremely proud of what the team and I have achieved over the years," said Williams.
"As I take this next step in my life, I’d like to thank all of my industry friends and colleagues for 36 great years in a brilliant industry.”
Belinda Mindell, who chairs Fred Olsen Travel, added: “The board and I would like to thank Steve for his dedication and loyalty. Steve has been instrumental in building up the businesses within Fred Olsen Travel. We wish him well in his future."
Fred Olsen Travel opened its first agency in Kent last month, its 23rd across the south, south east and east of England, and is targeting 25 by the end of the year.
