The Bromley-based agency announced on Tuesday (9 May) it has started selling one-way flying options for popular European city breaks.
One-way flying – the act of travelling one way by train and the other by plane to cut emissions in half – has gained foothold in recent times, as more people become increasingly worried about their holidays’ sustainability.
According to chief executive and founder Melissa Tilling, one-way flying is the perfect alternative for people who want to be more sustainable but have limited time and funds.
“Flying one way does however enable travellers to significantly minimise their emissions, travel more responsibly and incorporate more of the journey into the holiday experience,” Tilling added.
“Our top tip is to take the train outbound to ease into your break and opt to fly back, for a quicker return."
A long weekend in Cannes, the agents said, will start from £455pp and include train travel to the French Riviera through Paris and Lyon, a three-night stay in a four-star hotel and flights back to London Gatwick.
This will have a significantly less impact on train travel, producing 0.006 tonnes of CO2 compared to the 0.17 per person emitted by air.
One-way flying options are also available for a two-night break in both Barcelona and Venice, with prices starting from £445 and £645 per person.
