Youth travel specialist Contiki has appointed James Marchant its new global chief executive.

He has also served as an advisory board member of luxury travel agent Black Tomato, which he helped develop, since its launch in 2005.
Marchant will be responsible for Contiki’s teams across the world and growing its more than 300 trips.
His appointment comes as Contiki launches its 2019 programme, which for the first time features Africa, as well as 21 new itineraries across Europe and the Middle East and a new budget Iconic Essentials travel style.
He will relocate from London to the operator’s Geneva HQ.
