A&K Travel Group, which owns the luxury Crystal brand, has announced that Symphony will undergo a three-week refurbishment in November.
The work will include a redesign of its Aquamarine and Sapphire Classic suites on deck 10. The suites will retain their existing layouts but will be given new furnishings, carpets and wall coverings, which will “align” with the style introduced during the ship’s major refit two years ago.
Public areas to receive a makeover include Symphony’s Atrium and Crystal Cove, which will be given a new layout and extra seating. The existing water feature will also be removed and the reception area will have an elevated space with a new desk.
Bernie Leypold, Crystal’s senior vice-president of hotel operations, said: “Our goal is to ensure that every space aboard our ships feels both timeless and contemporary, infused with warmth, elegance and thoughtful design.
“These enhancements aboard Crystal Symphony reflect our promise to create meaningful experiences for our guests at every touchpoint.”
As part of the work, the stair lobbies on decks 5 and 6 will be given a refresh, as will the Starlite Club. Symphony will also undergo a “extensive technical upgrade to ensure optimal performance and long-term sustainability”.
Crystal Symphony is expected to resume service with its Wellness Retreat voyages from 26 November, when the first itinerary will depart from Lisbon for a 15-night cruise to Tema in Ghana. These sailings will all see the debut of the ship’s new show, Club Nights.
