Eurostar is offering passengers a range of meat-free menus this week to celebrate National Vegetarian Week.
For the first time, the train operator is offering a range of vegetarian menus in Business Premier and Standard Premier from 13 to 19 May.
The Business Premier menus have been created by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, who is also Eurostar’s Business Premier culinary director, using sustainable ingredients “of local provenance”. They include both hot and cold vegetarian dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“I have always celebrated the magic of seasons and vegetables, as they are the heart of my gastronomy,” explained Blanc. “Each dish I have designed with Eurostar is created with sustainability and responsible sourcing in mind.”
Blanc’s main dishes include celeriac, spinach and lentil curry, cauliflower and courgette crumble, and quinoa with cauliflower, kale, raisins and seeds.
Eurostar is also offering passengers travelling in Standard Premier class a variety of vegetarian meals this week, with dishes such as an aubergine roll with goat’s cheese, spring onion and tomato, and a ciabatta sandwich with roasted red pepper, feta and hazelnuts.
