Exodus Travels is expanding its support of Rewilding Europe’s work in the Velebit Mountains and the Adriatic coast in Croatia ahead of World Rewilding Day on 20 March.
Rewilding Europe’s local team aims to develop wildlife corridors, rewild forests and initiate natural grazing.
The expansion comes as part of Exodus’ long-term commitment to sustainable travel after it launched its climate and biodiversity action plan in January 2021 with a pledge to rewild 100 square metres per passenger of land in the Italian Apennines.
The process of rewilding helps to restore eco-systems and biodiversity for local wildlife while also helping to combat climate change by increasing the land’s ability to absorb carbon.
Kasia Morgan, head of sustainability at Exodus Travels, said Rewilding Europe’s work has "never been more important" given the climate and biodiversity challenges the planet faces.
"We are delighted to extend our partnership to support their creation of wildlife corridors in the Velebit Mountains, Croatia, alongside continued support of the pioneering Nature & Carbon Corridors Project in the Central Apennines," she added.
