Roux brings more than 30 years’ travel industry experience to the role with the alliance, the past 15 of which were with Air France-KLM. There he held a variety of strategic and operational executive roles, most recently senior vice-president alliance.
He was responsible for the group’s strategic partnership activities in a number of markets across more than 80 joint ventures and codeshare agreements.
Walter Cho, SkyTeam chair, said Roux joined at an important time for the alliance, which recently welcomed Virgin Atlantic as a new member – its first new member for eight years.
Roux replaces Kristin Colvile, who will return to Delta Air Lines following her four-year tenure overseeing SkyTeam, during which time she led a strategic transformation focusing on ensuring seamless travel for more than 600 million customers across SkyTeam airlines.
Colvile also spearheaded the alliance’s focus on health and safety, and sustainability, during the pandemic.
"I thank Kristin for all her hard work and dedication over the last four years, during which she navigated the challenges of the pandemic to lead SkyTeam’s transformation into a more agile, digitally focused, value-oriented organisation," said Cho.
