Former Thomas Cook managing director Andrew Windsor has died aged 56.
Windsor’s ex-wife Emma revealed the news in a Facebook post at the weekend, widely shared by former colleagues and other industry professionals.
"It is with great sadness I write to tell you my ex-husband, Andrew Windsor, passed away yesterday morning," she said.
"He leaves three amazing sons who are devastated, and a sister. He was just 56. So sad."
Windsor joined Cook in 1988 where he worked for five years, leaving his general manager role in Cook’s retail division for a post at B&Q.
He rejoined Cook in 1995, again in retail, before working his way up to lead the business as managing director between 2001 and 2003, before joining lastminute.com.
Later, more than a decade’s consultancy work saw him support various travel firms, before he most recently took up a chairman and commercial director role with digital and email marketing firm Out There in 2017.
