Borealis’ first cruise will be a six-night Scottish Lochs and Isles sailing, departing Liverpool on 23 April next year. This will be followed by a five-night Irish Capitals and Scottish Scenery itinerary.
Later, Borealis will offer sailings in the Mediterranean, Norway, Iceland and more.
Details of Borealis’ first deployments come after Fred Olsen revealed those for Bolette, the second new ship to join Fred Olsen’s fleet this summer – both from Holland America Line.
Both ships programmes are now on sale.
Borealis will sail almost exclusively from Liverpool in 2021 and 2022, the line has said, taking on existing itineraries for Black Watch, which was retired last month. It will also sail five brand new itineraries.
"We can’t wait to return to Liverpool, which has been such a popular regional port for us for a number of years now," said Clare Ward, Fred Olsen’s director of product and customer service.
"We know Borealis will have an extremely warm welcome when she arrives there next spring. It is so exciting to have both of our new ships on sale, and to be able to showcase some of the itineraries we have on offer.
“In addition to taking on Black Watch’s sailings, Borealis will also take guests on a number of new cruises, offering opportunities to witness the natural beauty of closer-to-home islands around the UK, seek out the Northern Lights, from where Borealis takes her namesake, and recharge on a short Spanish city break in the run up to Christmas next year."
Ward added Borealis and Bolette would continue to offer clients the same Fred Olsen experience they have "come to know and love", with familiar venues – as well as a range of new facilities.
Guests booked onto any of Borealis’ sailings for 2021 or 2022 by 30 September 2020 will enjoy free tips and money to spend onboard, up to £100pp.
The six-night Scottish Lochs and Isles cruise, departing Liverpool on 23 April 2021, leads in from £599pp, while the 16-night In Search of Aurora Borealis itinerary, departing Liverpool on 16 November 2021, leads in from £1,999pp.
Borealis’ 14-night Canaries Christmas and Funchal Fireworks cruise, meanwhile, departing Liverpool on 21 December 2021, leads in from £2,299pp.
