G Adventures has grown its trade sales team to 10 with the appointment of its newest “global purpose specialist” (GPS) Michelle Thake.
Thake joins the operator after G Adventures posted “double-digit” sales growth from independent agents over the past three years.
She will be responsible for increasing agent training and support in G’s east of England and Channel Islands regions.
Thake brings more than 25 years’ experience in the travel sector, including stints with multiple high street agencies before 14 years running her own business with Travel Counsellors.
Brian Young, G Adventures’ managing director, said: “Our GPS team are the frontline support for our agent partners and we are incredibly excited to welcome Michelle, who not only has a brilliant understanding of our product, but is also incredibly engaged with our purpose.
“Michelle’s first-hand experience working in the independent travel sector has given her a great understanding of what agents need and the tools to support the double-digit growth we have seen from independent agents over the past three years.”
Thake added: “I’ve been selling G Adventures for many years and was so impressed by the diversity of the product, but also how the experience offered travellers more than just a holiday – it was a chance to change people’s lives.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the G Adventures team and am excited to help agents understand more about the purpose behind the incredible trips on offer.”
G Adventures is the world's largest small-group adventure travel company, offering more than 700 tours in 100 different countries, and service levels to meet all tastes, ages and budgets.
