Barr bagged herself the place by completing both the Qantas and Tourism Western Australia agent training programmes, in a campaign designed to raise awareness of the new route among the trade.
She will be one of the first members of the UK trade to board the Qantas Dreamliner for the non-stop journey, in May next year.
Ben Joseph from Gold Medal and John Flowers from STA Travel also won places on the fam trip, at special events held in Manchester and London.
The first flight of the service will depart on March 25, 2018 and will take 17 hours to reach Perth before continuing on to Melbourne.
Barr said: “I’m so excited. I did all the training and never thought I would win. Now I can’t stop grinning.”
Designed to educate agents about Western Australia and its accessibility, the fam trip will be a useful tool for anyone selling Australia to their clients.
“Any experience in this industry is good experience,” Barr added. “The invaluable knowledge I will gain from the fam trip can only benefit my sales. Having never been to Oz I’m really looking forward to seeing what Western Australia has to offer.”
