A joint plan between the country’s prime minister, tourism and health ministries will reportedly allow admission of travellers who have received vaccines within the last six months from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac and Sinopharm.
Those who have received one vaccine dose and can provide evidence of recovery from Covid will also be able to enter, according to Reuters. The move is said to be subject to cabinet approval.
Israel’s borders have been largely closed to foreign arrivals since March 2020, but in recent months small groups of vaccinated tourists and first-degree relatives of citizens have reportedly been allowed to enter.
Its health ministry has advised caution over the possibility of new Covid variants.
