Jet2 will grow its Atol capacity somewhere in the region of 15% to 18% next year, according to chief executive Steve Heapy.
Heapy told delegates at Jet2’s VIP conference in Calpe on Tuesday (26 November) the operator’s 2018/19 Atol for 3.9 million passengers would grow to between 4.5 million and 4.6 million next year.
“Since the collapse of Thomas Cook, we’ve been working on new numbers – 4.5 million to 4.6 million,” said Heapy. “We’ve got plans for growth and to give you more product to sell. Hopefully, we will close the gap to Tui.”
Heapy said Jet2 had put significant additional capacity into Turkey and Greece for summer 2020. New Greek destinations for summer 2020 include Preveza, Skiathos, Lesvos and Kalamata.
“Watch this space, there may be some more action in the next couple of weeks,” Heapy added, teasing a new destination – potentially a Greek island – which he said would be revealed next week along with full details of Jet2’s newest city break destination, Lisbon, also announced at the conference.
He added total Jet2.com flight capacity would increase 14% next year.
