Lufthansa is reportedly eyeing up Thomas Cook-owned airline Condor.
According to news agency Reuters, talks have been going on since at least January.
The revelation follows a similar story from earlier this month, which indicated that Lufthansa was interested in Scandinavian carrier SAS and Brussels Airlines.
Sources told Reuters that the outcome could be some form of market co-operation where it could buy capacity on Condor’s flights; an acquisition of a minority stake; or a complete takeover.
Lufthansa relaunched Eurowings last year as a low-cost carrier in a bid to compete with the likes of easyJet and Ryanair.
Lufthansa, Condor and Thomas Cook did not comment to Reuters.
