Marella Cruises has revealed 18 new ports of call - including Boston, Halong Bay and San Juan - as part of its winter 2021/22 programme.
The Tui-owned line has created 23 new itineraries which among them features Marella Discovery’s new sailing to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and Marella Discovery 2 heading to Canada for the first time.
The programme, which goes on sale today (10 September) also sees "more calls than ever" to Havana during Marella Explorer 2’s Flavour of the Caribbean itinerary.
From December 2021, Discovery’s A Taste of the Tropics will homeport in Barbados and will sail to new ports of call Charlotte Amelie and Frederiksted in the US Virgin Islands before continuing to Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Discovery 2 will sail on two new itineraries around Asia from 2022. The Lights of the Orients itinerary will see the ship homeport in Hong Kong and Eastern Experience will sail from Singapore. Both itineraries will visit new ports of call such as Manila, Brunei and Da Nang.
Marella Dream and Explorer will offer the line’s new Island Explorer itinerary, departing in November 2021 from Tenerife and sailing around the Canaries and overnighting in Funchal.
Further afield, Marella’s East Coast Adventure sees the line heading to Canada for the first time and an overnight stay in Boston.
Cruisers will also be able to discover Cuba at night next winter with an overnight stay in Havana on Explorer 2’s Flavour of the Caribbean itinerary.
Marella announces a further extension to its suspension of sailings until 15 November late last month.
It has launched the Marella Promise, which includes flexibility for all bookings made between 23 July and 30 September, allowing one free amendment to move to a later date.
Marella managing director Chris Hackney said “We’re delighted to share the details of our winter 2021 programme and are really excited to have added even more choice for our customers with amazing destinations and exotic new itineraries as we continue to take customers to places they really want to explore.
“We’re dedicated to making sure our customers and crew are safe whilst they have the most memorable and exciting cruise with us. We can’t wait to finally take to the sea’s and show the world to our cruisers again, as soon as we’re able to.”
